What is a Contingency Agreement and Why Do I Need One?

When you’re dealing with storm damage, you may hear us talk about signing a Contingency Agreement—but what is it, and why is it important?

A Contingency Agreement protects you and us!

It’s a simple document that says:

If your insurance provider approves the full or partial replacement of your roof as a result of storm damage, and PRQ can complete the work per the insurance scope, you agree to hire PRQ for the project.

🛡️ Why it’s beneficial for homeowners:

  • No obligation unless approved: You’re not committing to anything unless your insurance claim is approved and PRQ can do the work.

  • Protects your claim: Insurance companies prefer to see a consistent record of who inspected and is managing the repairs.

  • Locks in your pricing: You won’t get surprise bids or bait-and-switch tactics from other contractors.

  • Prioritizes your project: Once signed, we can assign you a Claims Pro and begin coordinating with your adjuster.

🤝 Why PRQ requires it:

  • It allows us to dedicate time and resources to your project (photos, inspection, claim guidance) without charging upfront.

  • It shows mutual commitment: we’re investing in you, and you’re showing trust in us if the insurance approves the work.

There’s no cost to sign, and no risk to you unless the claim is approved and PRQ can perform the work as outlined.
